Our New GPU Servers – Custom Gaming & Enthusiast PC Blog

Our New GPU ServersToday, we announced two new GPU servers, the ProMagix G480i and G480a. Designed specifically for compute intensive tasks like simulation, rendering, analytics, deep learning, and AI, these rackmount supercomputers take our performance PC heritage and crank it up to 11. Let’s explore.

What is GPU Computing?

With the introduction of CUDA cores, NVIDIA changed the game. This allowed for the computation of complex calculations by breaking them up into smaller ones and running them in parallel on the many CUDA cores of a GPU or multiple GPUs, rather than the CPU. By spreading out these applications over thousands of cores, certain calculations can be sped up exponentially. Now with the release of Tensor and RT cores alongside CUDA, NVIDIA GPUs are able to relegate specific render or AI computation to cores optimized for those tasks, further accelerating them.

G480i

ProMagix G480i GPU Server

First is the G480i, a custom HPC/AI server designed for versatility and scalability, powered by dual 4th Gen Intel Scalable Xeon processors, making it ideal for applications accelerated by the Intel instruction set. Built in a 4U rackmount form factor, the G480i supports up to 8 x PCIe Gen 5 GPUs. And like everything we do, the G480i is assembled and supported by our team of US-based experts.

Base Specs:

  • Supports up to 8 x Dual slot Gen5 GPU cards
  • 2 x 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors
  • 12-Channel RDIMM DDR5, 24 x DIMMs
  • 2 x 10Gb/s BASE-T LAN ports
  • 2 x M.2 slots with PCIe Gen3 x4 and x1 interface
  • 8 x FHFL PCIe Gen5 x16 slots for GPUs
  • 2 x FHFL PCIe Gen5 x16 slots
  • 3+1 3000W (240V) 80 PLUS Titanium redundant power supplies
