We’ve witnessed some RTX 4070 Ti price drops ever since the release of the newer Super variant, which is part of Nvidia’s new Super GPU line-up that offer some refreshed performance. However, with the 4070 Ti Super only being a marginal upgrade according to benchmarks, going for the original at a cheaper price is worth considering.
Browsing through Amazon will present you with a number of different 4070 Ti and 4070 Ti Super custom models, but which should you go for? With some examples showing that you can get the ‘vanilla’ card for up to $100+ cheaper with relatively little performance difference, it can be a decent money-saving solution.

Non-super RTX 4070 Ti enjoys price drops on Amazon
Back when we reviewed the RTX 4070 Ti, the price tag was less than appealing. However, with the release of the RTX 4070 Ti Super, the original model has been seeing some pretty sizeable price drops to make considering it a valid option.
We’ve spotted a number of SKUs on Amazon enjoying price drops as high as $110 off. All of these have dropped well below $800, whereas the 4070 Ti Super is generally found at MSRP ($799) or above.
Considering the performance uplift between the RTX 4070 Ti Super vs RTX 4070 Ti isn’t as big as we first hoped, opting for the older GPU can be worth it when bought at the right price.
Is the RTX 4070 Ti still good value for money?
The RTX 4070 Ti has always been hard to recommend in terms of value for money, especially at its $799 MSRP or above. It has now sat on the market for more than enough time to reduce in price, and the release of the Super edition has only accelerated discounts of the original card.
It is one of the best GPUs for gaming if you’re interested in 1440p or 4K performance and we think now offers decent value for money. Not the very best (we personally think the RTX 4070 Super is the new sweet spot), but better value for money than ever before.
