Benchmarking the new Ryzen 9 7950X3D – Custom Gaming & Enthusiast PC Blog

The Ryzen 9 7950X3D is the AMD’s newest big-name addition to the Ryzen family of CPUs. We wanted to spotlight a recent build featuring all 16 of its cores in the Raptor Signature Edition. Running 32 threads and utilizing AMD’s 3D cache technology, the processor is absolutely no slouch, which proved true during testing.

Benchmarking the new Ryzen 9 7950X3D
Our test subject today is a beast of a machine, including:

  • Kingston Fury RGB DDR5 RAM (32GB)
  • 2TB Samsung 990 PRO 2 SSD
  • Custom AIO Watercooling, 360mm
  • GeForce RTX 4090

Ryzen 7950X3D performance in Cinebench

The star of the show today, of course, is our proc. The 7950X3D took on Cinebench swinging, giving us a score of just under 36,000. This well exceeds the likes of some AMD Threadripper and even Intel Xeon chips. It does come behind the 13th gen i9, however this comes at a clear difference in core count (the i9 sports a whopping 24 cores), and our testing for both processors being multithreaded, giving team blue a bit of an unfair advantage. But, The score per core goes without a doubt to the X3D, clocking in an impressive 2250.

We’d give a big recommendation of this processor to those who are running programs (or games!) that demand a lot of L3 cache, or stress single cores. It has plenty of firepower for multithreaded applications as well, though it may be wise to consider investing a bit more to get more cores under your belt if that’s your absolute priority.

You can spec this exact system or make modifications to it here on our website, or browse around to find your next dream PC.
