The celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the birth of Shrii Shrii Anandamurti, the guru of Ananda Marga, included a film, exhibition and photo books.
Embodiment of Bliss: The Life and Legacy of Shrii Shrii Anandamurti is a feature-length documentary film produced for the occasion of the birth centenary of Shrii Shrii Anandamurti which takes us on a whirlwind tour of the life of a modern-day tantric guru, spiritual master and social revolutionary extraordinaire.
The film premiered in May 2021 with three global premiere screenings on 23, 26 and 30 May. These were followed by ten more global and dedicated event screenings throughout the rest of the year. The film can be viewed on special occasions on the PR Sarkar Institute channel. It is accompanied by an exhibition and two photo books.
Shrii Shrii Anandamurti: 100 Facets of His Life, Mission and Teachings is a 100-module exhibition of key events, milestones and fascinating insights into the life of modern-day tantric guru, spiritual master and social revolutionary Shrii Shrii Anandamurti.
Each module comprises descriptive text, stories and best-quality images, carefully selected, restored, enhanced and compiled for the occasion of his birth centenary.
It is available in two versions: print and screen. And the screen (extended) version is now also available as a photo book.
Another photo book published for the occasion of the centenary is Shrii Shrii Anandamurti, a large format 100-page hardcover book of over 250 best-quality images (15 of them full-page) carefully selected, restored, enhanced and compiled with accompanying captions and Baba quotes.

This new moon, the darkest night of the year, is Diipávalii, the festival of lights, the celebration of light over darkness, symbolising the dispelling of the darkness of ignorance by the light of spiritual knowledge, the conquest of good over evil, immortalised in history when Satyabhama, wife of Lord Krsna, defeated Narakasura in battle when he attacked Dwaraka, the ancient city that Krsna built.“Satyabhámá and Rukmińii, Lord Krśńa’s consorts, were always spoken of together. Satyabhámá was adept in social service, government administration and the art of warfare. Perhaps you know the story of how she once led her country to victory.“Once, in Lord Krśńa’s absence, a neighbouring king, Narakasura, attacked Dwaraka, Krśńa’s capital. (By the way, the Dwaraka of Krśńa’s time is no more. It long since became submerged under the Arabian sea. The old city of Dwaraka is sleeping under the Arabian sea: I would say about twenty-six miles west of the present-day Dwaraka.)“Immediately after Narakasura attacked Dwaraka, Satyabhámá lost no time and launched a fierce counterattack against the invading forces. Narakasura’s army was defeated and he died on the battlefield. The day Narakasura was killed was the day before the new-moon day of the month of Karttik [mid-October to mid-November]. The whole city of Dwaraka was transported with joy. On 21 October 1990, Shrii Shrii Anandamurti completed his mission in physical form and left his body, which was cremated on 26 October of that year. On 8 October 1970 Baba introduced the Bábá Nám Kevalam kiirtan mantra:“The time has come to manifest the glory of kiirtana… those who wish to attain spiritual progress in their sádhaná will have to do more and more kiirtana. By kiirtana, the mind becomes pure, and with this pure mind, one can do sádhaná. If the mind is made pure even for five minutes by kiirtana, then if you do sádhaná for only five minutes, your sádhaná will be very good — you will surely attain spiritual progress. And because of your spiritual progress, you will come closer and closer to the Supreme Consciousness, you will come in contact with His psychic waves.
