Acer has finally announced their latest OLED gaming monitor, so today we’re going to have a closer look at the Acer Predator X49 X release date. Alongside that, there’s much to learn about its specs and potential price tag. In a similar vain as the Predator Z57 being a competitor for Samsung’s Neo G9 57″, this new X49 X gaming monitor is best compared to Samsung’s OLED G9.
There isn’t long left until this impressive 49-inch monitor hits the market. With a whole range of top-notch specs, we expect it to be a popular alternative – so we’re keen to learn how it shapes up in terms of value for money against the competition.

Acer Predator X49 X release date prediction
Despite announcing this new Predator X49 X gaming monitor, Acer has yet to reveal an official release date. That means we’ll have to stick to a prediction for the time being. This monitor has been teased for a while now though (back in December 2023 originally), so we expect it to be available to buy pretty soon. Speaking of, check out our where to buy Acer Predator X49 X guide if you’re interested.
We’d wager on it arriving around the same time as the upcoming Acer Predator Z57 release date. So, we’d estimate a Q2 2024 launch and will be back with relevant updates. If the Predator X45 OLED that released last year is anything to go by, it’ll aim for launch before the end of June. While you wait, you can check out the official announcement video just below.

Having a full look at the specs on show gives us a good idea of how well this gaming monitor will perform. Thanks to the QD-OLED panel technology, we can expect a good level of brightness – DisplaySpecifications note that it uses the same display as a couple of other monitors, reaching 1000 nits peak and 250 nits typical.
As we’ve said, it best compares to the new OLED G9 specs, so both monitors will no doubt deliver an immersive gaming experience, even though the 1800R curvature isn’t quite as extreme as something like the Neo G9 with 1000R.
Acer Predator X49 X price estimate
The exact pricing of the Predator X49 X is something else that Acer has left us guessing with. As an ultrawide gaming monitor that matches much of what we’ll see in the latest OLED G9, we know that it won’t come cheap.
To compare, the Z57 releases with the same MSRP as the Neo G9 57″. If Acer follows a similar pattern and price the X49 X the same as the OLED G9, we could see it costing as much as $2,199.99. On the flip side, the G9 soon dropped to $1,799.99, with a follow-up cheaper variant selling for $1,599.99. We expect the new Acer Predator to cost somewhere between the latter two.
Is the Acer Predator X49 X an OLED monitor?
Yes, the new Acer Predator X49 X gaming monitor uses a QD-OLED panel. This panel type offers excellent color accuracy with per-pixel lighting to make for deep blacks and a wide color gamut. The Quantum Dot tech helps boost brightness levels for improved luminosity.
OLED panels also offer a high level of responsiveness for impressive motion clarity, on top of the high 240Hz refresh rate the X49 X offers.
What monitor is an alternative to the Acer Predator X49 X?
As a super ultrawide OLED gaming monitor, we can most easily compare this Acer Predator to Samsung’s OLED G9 which originally hit the market back in June 2023. Samsung is also releasing a 2024 edition, which remains very similar and will compare to the X49 X in most ways.
Both will be using a 49-inch QD-OLED panel, offering a fast 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time. We also expect them to be a similar price.
