2023 brought us several hundred new smartphones, some more popular than others. Now that we turn to 2024, it’s time to have a revisit which were the best performers by a very important criteria – their popularity among you, our readers.
Here are the Top 20 phones that you searched for the most over the last 12 months. Obviously, the list is dominated by the launches from the first half of the year – those had more time to rack up the page views, but some late arrivals did so well they still managed to crack the top 20.
Samsung remains the dominant force in this ranking, even if it has one fewer entry than last year. The Korean maker made up for that by taking all of the top 5 spots.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is the outright champion, followed closely by the Galaxy A54. The mid-ranger could have been on top here, but the month and a half advantage of the flagship and the higher initial interest it enjoyed ended up decisive.
Behind those we have the Galaxy S23, Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A14. Further down the ranks there’s the Galaxy A14 5G in eight, the Galaxy A24 4G in thirteenth position and the Galaxy S23+ in the fifteenth spot.
Apple’s new lineup only debuted in September, but the iPhone 15 Pro Max was still immensely popular, which helped it claim sixth.
Tecno has made huge progress this year, delivering a bunch of notable phones and its entry-level offering Spark 10 Pro did so well it became the seventh most popular phone in our database this year.
Xiaomi is certainly taking a step back compared to the past couple of years, but it still has three representatives in the top 20 – the Redmi 12 and Poco X5 Pro in ninth and tenth as well as the Poco F5 in twelfth.
OnePlus 11 sits in eleventh, while sister brand Realme saw its C55 and 11 Pro+ crack the chart.
Impressively, Infinix has three phones in the top 20 – the Hot 30, Hot 30i and the Note 30 take positions sixteenth through eighteenth. Quite the rise by the Transsion brands!
Finally, there’s vivo’s representative – the V27 was the nineteenth most popular phone in our database in 2023.
Bring on 2024 – here’s hoping it brings us many hot new phones for us to play with!
