Another week down, let’s recap. Our Galaxy A55 battery life test came out, confirming the phone brings a big improvement in battery life over its incredibly popular predecessor.
We saw fresh renders of the Google Pixel 9, the smallest in Google’s upcoming lineup. The 9 will offer a 6.03-inch display (presumably 120Hz OLED) compared to the 6.1-inch Pixel 9 Pro and 6.5-inch Pixel 9 Pro XL. The other key difference on the vanilla Pixel 9 is the dual camera setup compared to the three shooters on both the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL.
vivo unveiled the X Fold3 and the X Fold3 Pro.The vivo X Fold3 weighs just 219g, making it the lightest horizontal inward foldable phone. It has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and a 5,500mAh battery. The X Fold3 Pro bumps those to a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and a 5,700mAh battery. There are different camera setups as well. The Pro has a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.3″ sensor, a 3x 64MP zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide with AF. It also boasts a V3 imaging chip. The vivo X Pro3 lacks the V3 chip, has a smaller sensor main 50MP camera, and just a 2x zoom camera, but the same ultrawide.
The vivo X Fold3 starts at CNY 7,000 for the 12GB/256GB model, which converts to $970/€895/₹80,800. The vivo X Fold3 Pro starts at CNY 10,000, this is for a 16GB/512GB phone ($1,385/€1,275/₹117,00). The phones are already up in vivo’s store in China and will start shipping by the end of the month.
A few weeks ago we heard that the F6 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, this is now confirmed by HyperOS source code.
There are two models this time around. Both use the same screens, but the Pro has the better chipset, cameras and battery.
The original Tab S6 Lite is from 2020, there was a 2022 model, this is the third iteration. It comes with Wi-Fi and LTE flavors and has an LCD screen with S Pen support.
WhatsApp will finally allow you to send HD media automatically select it for every file. The setting is currently in beta but will make its way in a future release.
The Samsung Galaxy M55 is official. It’s built around a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It features up to 1,000 nits peak brightness, an optical under-display fingerprint scanner, and a 50MP front-facing camera housed inside a punch-hole cutout. The back gets a 50MP main camera with OIS alongside an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro cam. Galaxy M55 is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset alongside 8 GB RAM and 256GB storage which is expandable via the microSD card slot. The phone boots One UI 6.1 based on Android 14 with a guarantee of 4 Android updates and 5 years of security patches. The 5,000 mAh battery supports Samsung’s 45W Super Fast Charging 2.0 which Samsung claims will give you a 70% charge in 30 minutes.
The Galaxy M55 is listed in Dark Blue and Light Green colors with a BRL 2,999 ($600) in its 256GB storage trim. The device is already on pre-order in Brazil and is expected to arrive in more countries soon.
