A few months ago OnePlus launched the affordable OnePlus Pad Go in India. Then a month later Oppo released the Pad Air2 in China and it was basically the same hardware under new branding. Now it gets another name – Oppo Pad Neo – as it has quietly launched in Malaysia where it should be available for sale immediately, it is also listed on the company’s Taiwanese site.
There are two versions of the Pad Neo – Wi-Fi and LTE. The former is configured with 6/128GB, the latter comes in an 8/128GB configuration. They are priced MYR 1,200, the latter is MYR 1,400. For what it’s worth, the OnePlus tablet Pad Go is not available in the country (not it Taiwan either).
The Oppo Pad Neo has a 10.35” LCD with 2,408 x 1,720px resolution. It refreshes at 90Hz with 180Hz touch sampling and claims to cover 96% of the NTSC color space with 10-bit colors. The display is flanked by quad speakers (with Dolby Atmos) and there is an 8MP camera on the front, plus an 8MP camera on the back (both capable of 1080p @ 30fps video capture).
The tablet is powered by the Helio G99 chipset and an 8,000mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOC charging. The tablet even comes with a charger and a cable in the box. This being an Oppo tablet it comes with ColorOS 13.2.
The Oppo Malaysia site has a Buy Now button, however, at the time of writing it doesn’t actually work yet. We’re sure that Oppo will clear this up soon. The Taiwanese site does not seem to offer the tablet just yet. We will let you know if we spot the Pad Neo anywhere else.
