Tech giant OnePlus debuted in the smartwatch segment in 2021 when the brand announced the OnePlus Watch for consumers. Since then, OnePlus has not launched the 2nd generation of wearables for 3 years. Now finally, speculations are getting strong that OnePlus will announce the OnePlus Watch 2 during the MWC 2024 happening in February. Tipster Max Jambor has claimed this launch date and also talked about one major improvement that the wearable will get.
MWC’s launch date seems probable as OnePlus hasn’t teased the watch for tomorrow’s launch happening in Delhi wherein the brand will announce the OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R, and OnePlus Buds 3 globally.

OnePlus Watch 2: Expected Design
Some renders surfaced in November 2023, according to which Watch 2 will have a better design than its predecessor. It will have a refreshed design wherein the right spine will protrude a little and will not be flush with the metal chassis. The buttons will be placed at the top and bottom of the protrusion.

One major upgrade that OnePlus Watch 2 is confirmed to get is WearOS which will replace the lighter OS used by OnePlus in the first generation watch. Reports claim Watch 2 will most likely use WearOS 4 which is the latest version of WearOS Google is offering. Max Jambor has confirmed this via a post on X. Here is the post-
WearOS 4 will offer advanced features like better safety, watch face format, backup, restore data transfer across devices, and more.
Other specs haven’t been confirmed yet but it is expected to sport a 1.43-inch AMOLED panel and be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC. The Watch 2 is said to have health sensors like a blood oxygen monitor, and heart rate monitor, and feature a charging connector at the bottom. OnePlus Watch 2 was seen on the BIS website with model number OPWWE231.

OnePlus Watch: Specs
OnePlus Watch comes with a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass on top. It was 5ATM rated along with an IP68 rating for protection and retailed at Rs. 14,999. The only downside was that the watch did not run WearOS.
This year, the Mobile World Congress will be held between the 26th to 29th of February in Barcelona.
