The Asus ROG Phone 8 series is slated to arrive sometime in 2024 which means we are still way too far from the launch. But that doesn’t mean rumors and speculations won’t sneak around. Turns out the Asus ROG Phone 8 Ultimate was recently spotted on China’s 3C agency listing and it is now certified with 65W fast charging just like its predecessor.
Asus ROG Phone 8 Ultimate bearing model number ASUS_AI2401_A will arrive bundled with PPS PD3.0 standard and Quick Charging 5 (QC5) protocol. Apart from that, we know that the phone has 5G connectivity and fast charging capabilities as evidenced by QC5. A previous Geekbench listing gave us a bit on its RAM storage at 6GB. There’s Android 14 that will be common across the trio – ROG Phone 8, 8 Pro, and 8 Ultimate. Both ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro made their appearance on the IMEI database a few days ago.
Circling back to ROG Phone 8 Ultimate, the phone spotted on Geekbench reportedly hit 2,213 points on single-core and 7,408 points on its multi-core test. It had 16GB RAM which means we can expect multiple storage configurations up to 16GB. The listing also shows an octa-core chipset with a 2+5+1 cores arrangement clocked at a max 3.19GHz. This is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 since last year’s ROG Phone 7 arrived with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
