ARRI has just upgraded their LED Fresnels with up to 90% more brightness than the original L-Series. Along with that, there is now direct network connectivity with LAN data input, plus the intuitive Skypanel Classic onboard control interface known from the ARRI SkyPanel. Two size options are available: the L5-C Plus and the L7-C Plus in either blue-silver or black. Let’s take a closer look at the details.
Introduced in 2011, ARRI L-Series LED luminaires presented the first professional alternative to tungsten Fresnels offering comparable performance. They provided independent control over color temperature and brightness and offered cost savings in power consumption and cooling. The light field could be controlled precisely, and white light was fully tunable for skin tones, mixed light, and more.
L-Series Plus – main features
Enter the new ARRI L-Series Plus fixtures. They are available in two sizes: the L5-C Plus features a 137mm/5in focusable Fresnel lens, while the L7-C Plus features a 175mm/7in. Mounting can be done manually or via pole operation, with compatibility for use with the ARRI Stellar and Photometrics apps. You can continuously control color temperature, tint, and hue from 2,800-10,000K. There is up to 90%, with an average of 60% more output (depending on the model, angle of the beam, and color temp) than the original L-Series. Other features include a sliding stirrup, focus knobs on each side of the fixture, and a high-strength tilt lock.

L-Series Plus – the specs
So how do we connect?
The L-Series Plus introduces improved connectivity through network data input and lighting control using the ArtNet and Streaming ACN industry standards. It features the onboard control and user interface of the Classic SkyPanel, which should simplify workflow. Both fixtures are RDM compatible with bi-directional feedback and reporting of key parameters like system status, etc.
Price and availability
According to ARRI, the L-Series Plus fixtures will be available from June 2024, with either a manual or PO yoke. The L-Series Plus comes with various options. For example, the L5-C with a hanging mount kit is priced at $2,990, and the L7-C LE2 LED Fresnel with Stage Pin Connector and Barndoor Kit is priced at $4,729. Please note that the current L-Series (L5-C, L7-C, L10-C) will be discontinued once the L-Series Plus is released.
