Apple Vision Pro arrived in the US earlier this month and took the internet by storm. We did a piece of ‘Apple Vision Pro: a Gimmick or a Futuristic Tech’ unraveling the hidden notion behind this $3,500 headset. People have been testing out Vision Pro at every nook and corner. One thing that caught my attention recently was the absence of a reset button and should you forget your passcode.
You can still do it but that requires connecting to the Mac using an additional accessory purchase. Well, Apple finally heard its users and has rolled out the ‘Reset’ button as a part of its latest visionOS 1.0.3 update.
The update brings the usual bug fixes and optimization. However, the biggest feature (that I would say) is the addition of ‘reset’ the headset should you forget your passcode. It was quite a hard-hitting fact for Vision Pro users who found out there’s no way to reset the headset if you are locked out of it unless you pair it up with a Mac but that has changed. Or you can simply talk to an Apple Care executive although we have heard users had to wait hours before the executives could reach out for assistance.
Fortunately, visionOS 1.0.3 is here for the rescue. Once you get your hands on the visionOS 1.0.3 via Settings >> Software Updates, you should be able to reset the headset if your passcode is rejected several times hinting that you forgot the passcode.
There’s not much happening with the update as of now although we are expecting more seasoned updates to arrive bringing in more features and bug fixes. Note that if you have reset your Vision Pro, the Activation Lock stays put meaning no one will be able to log in using your Apple ID even if the device gets stolen.
