The CameraFi Live by Vault Micro is a popular app that allows you to connect your professional cameras for live streaming. Now, CameraFi Live for iOS runs on your iPhone or iPad and supports Accsoon’s SeeMo HDMI and SeeMo SDI/HDMI iOS adapters. Streamers will be able to switch between their dedicated camera and the cameras on their iPhones. It allows users to deploy a multi-cam studio instantly. The SeeMo HDMI or SeeMo SDI/HDMI iOS adapters can be mounted on top of your camera, giving you a wide and tight angle without additional setup.
Multicam shoots offer the versatility of switching between multiple camera angles. However, each camera needs its’ own tripod, lens, syncing method, and switching connection. Vault Micro, the makers of the CameraFi Live app, set out to simplify this process by using the cameras on the iPhone or iPad to work with an external camera. The SeeMo HDMI and SeeMo SDI/HDMI receive a video signal from the camera and combine it with the video feed from the phone’s camera.
The setup for CameraFi Live is quite simple. Just mount the SeeMo adapter, hook up a couple of cables, and then switch between your camera and phone’s camera’s video feeds. In case you missed it, you can head over to our review of the SeeMo adapter.
Add reactions when switching video between phone and camera
CameraFi Live provides graphics for reactions that are great for streamers. You can put up scoreboards, subtitles, and images right over your stream. This is great for live sports, seminar presentations, and shopping shows.
Accsoon provides reliable performance on set. A few months ago, our crew used one of their units on set. We used it to provide an alternative WiFi network and send the main monitor image to crew members that didn’t need “zero delay.” It worked well and without fiddling. For that reason, I’m looking forward to trying out their new app that allows you to switch video between phone and camera.
Pricing and availability
The CameraFi Live app is available in the Apple App Store. The Accsoon SeeMo SDI/HDMI is available now for $349, and the SeeMo HDMI retails for $179.
