NANLITE PavoSlim 60CL, 240B & 240C – First Look

At NAB Show, NANLITE is showcasing several new products, including their PavoSlim 60CL, 240B, and 240C. We stopped by the company’s booth to learn more about these foldable and slim light panels directly from Barry Garcia from NANLITE.

The NANLITE PavoSlim series of LED light panels debuted back at IBC 2023 with 4 models: 60B, 60C, 120B, and 120C. These are 1×1’ and 2×2’ coming in both bi-color and RGBWW variants. The lights have a very low-profile design with a metal housing that helps with for heat dissipation, thus allowing the fixtures to achieve higher outputs.

Now, the company is taking this concept one step further by offering two larger panels (PavoSlim 240B and 240C) that can be folded in half to take up as little space as possible in your car or lighting truck. These are being showcased at NAB, next to the small-footprint PavoSlim 60CL color panel. Let’s take a closer look!

NANLITE PavoSlim 240B & 240C – overview

The PavoSlim 240B and 240C are 2×2’ LED light panels with bi-color and RGBWW outputs. Given the larger surface, they can provide a softer result on your subject compared to the 60B/C and 120B/C models.

The color temperature on both lights is adjustable – between 2,700 and 6,500K (240B) or 7,500K (240C in bi-color mode). According to NANLITE, the fixtures provide a color accurate output with CRI and TLCI ratings of 95/97 for the 240B and 96/97 for the 240C.

The maximum output, measured at a distance of 1 meter, is claimed to be 22,900 lux for the 240B and 24,970 lux for the RGBWW version. Both lights are 100% dimmable and have a series of built-in lighting effects.

A ballast is required to fire up the fixtures and you can choose between AC power or V-mount batteries. The latter can be hot-swapped to avoid downtime. To control the lights, you can use the on-board controls on the ballast as well as DMX, CRMX, or the NANLINK smartphone app.

The foldable design is particularly smart, as you can essentially have the punch and softness of a 2×2’ source, but in a 2×1’ package. Lastly, the lights come with a collapsable softbox and an eggcrate.

NANLITE PavoSlim 60CL – features

On the other hand, the PavoSlim 60CL is a 2×0,5’ RGBWW LED panel that is only 1.86cm thick. This means that it’s ideal to light very confined spaces, as in the case of a car scene, for example.

The light has similar features compared to its 240B/C siblings, including 100% dimming, a 2,700-7,500K color temperature range with green-magenta adjustments, CRI/TLCI of 96/97, as well as onboard, DMX, CRMX, and app control. It is claimed to output 7,094 lux at a 1 meter distance (5,600K).
