Infinix introduced the Smart 8 last year in some markets, but the one launched in India a couple of weeks ago came with the Helio G36 SoC, 50MP camera, and XOS 13 based on Android 13 Go. Now, the brand has announced the Smart 8 Pro, which isn’t a new smartphone but the Indian Smart 8.
That means the Infinix Smart 8 Pro comes with the Helio G36 SoC, a 6.6″ 90Hz HD+ LCD with Dynamic Island-like Magic Ring, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 10W charging. The smartphone also runs Android 13 Go-based XOS 13, and it has a feature that lets you call people on WhatsApp without adding their numbers. However, this feature will arrive through an OTA.
The Infinix Smart 8 Pro has two RAM (4GB/8GB) and storage (64GB/128GB) options with support for storage expansion via a microSD card. It also sports three cameras – 8MP selfie and 50MP primary, joined by what Infinix calls an “AI Lens.”
The rest of the Infinix Smart 8 Pro’s highlights include USB-C, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and DTS sound processing with a 200% Super Volume boost.
The Infinix Smart 8 Pro is offered in Timber Black, Shiny Gold, Galaxy White, and Rainbow Blue colors. Infinix is yet to reveal its pricing and availability, but the smartphone is available in India as the Smart 8 in a single 4GB/64GB configuration for INR7,499 ($90/€85). Hence, if Infinix launches a Smart 8 Pro in India, it will have different specs.
