OnePlus has launched the Ace 3 smartphone and the Buds 3 wireless earbuds in China. Both offer excellent specifications at a great price and are expected to arrive in India at the global OnePlus launch event scheduled later this month.
OnePlus Ace 3 Design
The OnePlus Ace 3 is available in Black, Blue, and Rose Gold. In terms of design, the phone looks very similar to its predecessor, the OnePlus Ace 2. It features a punch-hole display with symmetrical bezels at the front. Users get the power/volume buttons on the right frame, whereas the left frame features the mute switch or Alert Slider.
The top frame seems to house an infrared sensor and a secondary microphone, while the USB-C port, the SIM tray, and the speaker vents are located on the bottom. The smartphone’s rear panel houses the round camera cutout, which has three sensors, and the company’s branding in the center.
OnePlus Ace 3 Specifications
The smartphone comes with a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED screen that supports a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz and a typical peak brightness of 1,600 nits. The screen can also play Dolby Vision and HDR10+ content. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2 and features Rain Touch.
Under the hood, the handset features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC (4nm), the same chipset used by 2023’s flagships like the Galaxy S23 series. It is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage on the top model. Out of the box, the phone runs on ColorOS 14 based on Android 14.
Regarding optics, the OnePlus Ace 3 ships with a 50MP (f/1.8, 24mm) primary camera with OIS, an 8MP (f/2.2, 16mm) ultrawide sensor that provides 112-degree field of view, and a 2MP (f/2.4) macro sensor. All these cameras are in the circular cutout on the rear panel. On the front, users get a 16MP (f/2.4, 26mm) selfie shooter. The rear cameras can shoot 4K videos in 60 frames per second.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth v5.3, NFC, GPS, and USB Type-C port. The OnePlus Ace 3 also ships with stereo speakers, an under-display fingerprint scanner, and a 5,500 mAh battery that supports 100W wired charging.
OnePlus Ace 3 Price
In China, the base variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage costs CNY 2,599 or about Rs. 31,000. The variant with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage costs CNY 2,999 or about Rs. 36,000. The top model with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage is available for CNY 3,499, or about Rs. 42,000. While open sales in the country begin on January 15, 2024, the smartphone debuts in India on January 23, 2024.
OnePluds Buds 3 Specifications And Features
With the OnePlus Ace 3, the Chinese smartphone brand has also released the OnePlus Buds 3, the third iteration of its wireless earbuds. The TWS features 10.4mm drivers and supports AAC/SBC codecs. With the coaxial dual-unit design, the device generates rich bass and balanced treble. They can also play LHDC 5.0 Hi-Res Audio (at a maximum wireless transmission rate of 1Mbps).
The Buds 3 offers three levels of active noise cancellation. While Mild can suppress 10 dB sounds, Moderate and Depth can be used to quiet louder background noises for 20 dB and 49 dB, respectively. The earbuds also feature a transparency mode that enables users to be aware of their surroundings.
With ANC, the earbuds last up to 6.5 hours on a single charge and up to 28 hours with the charging case. Without ANC, the earbuds can last up to 10 hours by themselves and up to 44 hours with the charging case. The USB-C charging case also supports fast charging that juices up seven hours of playtime in 10 minutes.
The earbuds have three microphones for providing clear, hands-free calls. Users can also manage playback and incoming calls using touch controls. With regards to latency, the OnePluds Buds 3 stand at 94 milliseconds, which is not the best in the segment.
OnePluds Buds 3 Price
The TWS earbuds come in Sunny Sea Blue and Space Ash color. They cost CNY 499 in China, which is about Rs. 6,000 in India. They should be available to purchase on January 8, 2024, along with the OnePlus Ace 3.
