For its seventh and final update, the digital emulsion gurus at FlimConvert have released their camera profile for the DJI Air 3 UAV.
Last March, FilmConvert released the DJI Mini 3 Pro, and now the little brother of this third-generation drone line is supported by both Nitrate and CineMatch.
The DJI Air 3 was released last June and sports a gimballed, dual camera array with a 1/1.3” camera sensor, DJI’s new O4 transmission protocol, and a remarkable 46 minutes of flight time.
The Air 3 can capture 4K HDR video at up to 60 frames per second and can shoot vertical video by cropping the 4K image to 2.7K.
The frame rate can be boosted to up to 100 frames per second by disabling HDR, but if bolder colors are your thing, then keep it on and set the camera to either 10-bit D-Log M or HLG color modes.
The drone also has several shooting modes including Master Shots, Night Mode, Hyperlapse, SlowMotion, and a Smart Photo mode for capturing still images with optimum HDR settings for the best shot possible.
D-Log M mode can deliver even greater details in highlights and shadows, for increased dynamic range and image quality.
Adding the Halation tool, also gives a great dream-like quality to the image, making a shot appear more ethereal thanks to all light sources getting a halo-eque sheen.
Download and Installation
FilmConvert’s camera profile is available by updating through the Nitrate plugin’s new camera profile downloader. Users can navigate to the downloader, select the DJI Air 3 profile, and download to install.
Cinematch, by contrast, requires reinstallation of the plugin on the whole, and it can be downloaded from Cinematch.com. For those not familiar with this plugin, it enables matching different cameras to create a more seamless color and image palette that is consistent no matter the make or model.
FilmConvert’s Holiday Sale
There’s still time to take advantage of FilmConvert’s annual holiday sale and get a 33% discount on both Nitrate and CineMatch. FilmConvert plugins for either Adobe Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve 18, have a sale price of $99, or $149 for the all-in-one bundle.
Users can also add Halation, FilmConvert’s new halo mixin, for an additional $59 during the sale. CineMatch is also on sale for $99, $149 respectively.
Unsure users can take advantage of the free, unlimited trial and give all these tools a test drive. Download them at FilmConvert.com and CineMatch.com.
