Nothing Phone (2a) Camera and Display Specs Have Been Tipped By Leaked Firmware Data

After two generations of premium devices, Nothing is preparing to launch a new mid-range smartphone dubbed Nothing Phone 2a. The new smartphone will boast the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Soc and will include most of the features that make the Nothing phones stand in the crowd. Today, an image sketch of the smartphone confirmed the new rear camera design and a change for the glyph interface. To those unaware, the Glyph interface is composed of a set of individual LED zones. These can light up in unison or separately for a unique light show. They can serve as notification alerts, call alerts, etc. This is one of the most unique features of Nothing phones, and now the company plans to bring it to the mid-range market.

The sketch alone is not enough to depict the phone’s design in full. However, it suggests a smaller glyph interface and a circular camera island with two shooters.

Under the hood, the Nothing Phone (2a) will sport the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC. This chipset has 2 x ARM Cortex-A715 cores clocked at 2.8 GHz and 6 x ARM Cortex-A510 cores at 2.0 GHz. This chipset offers decent performance for app usage and moderate gaming. The Nothing Phone (2a) has model number A142 and codenames Pacman / Aero.

The Nothing Phone 2a boasts a 6.7-inch panel like the Nothing Phone (2) with a 2,412 x 1,084 resolution. The screen comes from China’s Visionox and BOE with model number rm692h5 and is said to be a 120 Hz AMOLED panel.

The new info also confirms the Nothing Phone (2a) with a 50 MP 1/1.5″ Samsung S5KGN9 sensor along with a 1/2.76″ 50 MP Samsung S5KJN1 ultra-wide camera. The front-facing shooter is a 32 MP Sony IMX615 camera.

The leak also confirms multiple variants of the model, like for example PacmanIND (India), Pacman JPN (Japan), PacmanEEA (Europe), and Pacman (global) models. This suggests the launch of the smartphone in these respective regions. Nothing has scheduled an event for the MWC 2024 on February 27th.
